There should be a link to manually report damaged results to the server that BOINC did not report.

A good place would be the users results.php page as only the account owner has access to it, result.php would work too if the link occurs only for the owner.

The CPDN licence part :
You will either return the results of your experiment to The Project unaltered or notify The Project that your experiment has been prematurely terminated, for whatever reason.
does make sense but would require a way to report without causing much work for the project guys.

Maybe it would be just as easy as setting result.outcome=3 (client error), better would be a new value for this state.

This whole issue currently applies only to CPDN work units but should be solved on platform level. This implies that it needs to be switchable like show_result_row(..., $show_delete_link) or show_result($result, $show_delete_link).

The result_report.php should of course check for $userid == $user->id and have an extra confirm checkbox (default unchecked) so accidential clicks on the wrong link in result(s).php will not do damage.

p.s.: it should only be possible to switch results to the new outcome if they do not already have a reported or evaluated outcome.

it's a good solution, but for me the boinc client should also send a message to the server if there are some problems, or the user is detaching or resetting. this will solve some problems with pending credits also for other projects.
