This micro-organism has survived almost unchanged through a lot worse
than human intervention.
It has survived every mass extinction that we know of.
The most suprising thing about it ,is the lack of evolution over a billion
or so years within it's genome.
If it doesn't fit nicely anywhere on the known tree of life,(using DNA analasys)then it must have perfected a way of survival that didn't need changing over time,producing multiple species,as every other single celled organism has done including our ancestral single celled organism.

Behind one extinct bee or butterfly 10 plants might have gone extinct. So this british list is only tip of iceberg of real environmental destruction for that given zone not to mention the industralization pollution in the last 100 years there.

And it is the plants that directly connected to larger amount of micro organism nature that symbiotically coexisted for billion years.

Have you actally read the article ?
You seem to be talking about something completely different.
You do know the tree of life is not a plant ,don't you?
Also this lifeform,is not a missing link.It has no near related
species at all,and has remained unchanged for a billion years or so.
The creature itself only lives in Norway,is carniverous,and exists
in a muddy sludge deep on the bottom of a lake,therefore has no symbiotic
relationship with plants,and is out of harms way as far as us
evil animal murdering British people are concerned.

My point was "probably in the north any natural life have more chance to survive relative to human civilization" , "so maybe they found something missing kind of life form out there " according to some trials of dots connecting.

And clearly compare to scandinavia britain had tons of industralization took place in the last 100 years so you have more chances of harming micro/macro nature around you. So it is more probablistic that norwegians might find some missing life forms from their own environment compare to your zone and my zone. No offense, wherever industralization take place hundreds or thousands of species go extinct it is modern natural law.
