Hi all,

I have recently joined this excellent project (Dec 2011) and as such I'm a very late starter as some of you guys have been contributing for years!

I have started a new team, SETI UK Home & Business and I'm looking to recruit active members. I'm not trying to top the list of contributors and my group is open to anyone to join, no matter if you are running your crunching software from a Netbook or a vast array of servers. I myself am currently only running from one laptop, one netbook and one desktop, which are family computers.

The purpose of my group is to appeal to individuals (new recruits) to join the project and make a donation of processing time. We all have family and friends who have computers and for some of us we work in establishments where the standard Windows screensavers will be going continuously on machines through the night. This provides an opportunity.

Having always had a very active interest in this subject area and working in the online industry myself I feel we can all do our bit to spread the word through our social networks online and offline.

If anyone would like to consider helping with administration of the group then I am very open to all offers.

I'd like to start by recruiting family and friends into the project and consequently the group and then I plan to put together a presentation package which can be used to recruit business partners into the scheme.

In our lifetimes we could assist in making the most profound discovery in the history of science as well as advances in medical research too.

I have gained another machine today. Its not the most powerful beast in the world but I'm installing Ubuntu on it and it will be ready to start crunching tomorrow!
