June 25th though July 3rd is national Power Down Week, a multiday event of energy conservation.

People will be turning off their air conditioners, using natural light, etc.

My main waste of power is my computers, many of which are running SETI@Home.

I would like to suggest that the SETI@Home community stop processing and turn off you computers for at least one day, July 25th, or possibly the whole week, show solidarity with the environmental movement and save energy.

Hmmmm, I think I'll just switch off my neighbor's PC instead, they're not using it for anything important..... <grin>

I used to let this 'puter run 24 hours, but I've started turning it off at night and not turning it back on until I'm home from work.
There go the crunch numbers, not that there was any danger of challenging msattler for bragging rights. LOL

Allthough I am glad you are participating, the average Hi temp for the last 10

days stands at 101F. Am not going to take part in reducing my "carbon footprint"

(whatever that means). Will use natural light until it gets dark, but my night-

light and security system will be on then.
