Pasi Karonen. Thanks for all the links.

I have no faith in NASA at all. They are the ones who give a window of about a day to tell us an astroid is coming. They could allow more time (Astroid or Comet) to tell us if a big one comes, but NO, that would create a panic. The stocks would plunge, people would jump off buildings. Panic, chaos, would follow.

I have no idea if 2012 could be the end of the world, or maybe just a change for the better. Ton's of things could go wrong now, or 2012. I'm not a Nostradamus, and neither is anyone else.

Look at all the dead black birds, and bottom feeder fish, that have died in Arkansas, Louisana, and fish in Brazil. Mystery, Yes. Birds by the thousands just don't drop out of the sky for no apparent reason.

I'll take that as a compliment. We don't need to be a "Nostradamus" considering he was wrong about every prediction he made.

Don't need to be a fortune teller to know that there's no reason to worry.

Absolutely right, and the mystery will be solved through science, not mythology.

NASA is just government agency meaning they do or inform only what the authority orders them.

For 2012 prediction lovers there is only one huge fact disaproving them that each year at least 100 cults from everywhere claim same stuff on Jan 1st.

Large die-offs of birds are nothing new. Blackbirds, starlings, and grackles spend the winter in HUGE flocks. Back 30 years ago, I spent a couple of years in Houston, Tx. In one small part of a park near where I lived, hundreds of thousands, likely millions of them would roost in the trees at night. The ground around and under the trees was covered by a white-ish substance every morning, and it wasn't snow. And sprinkled over it every morning was hundreds of dead birds. And this was just in one small area of one park. The cause in this instance was stress induced by the weather, starvation, and overcrowding.

I am not saying that this is the cause of death in these die-offs, but the birds do flock together in huge flocks. The least little thing will spook them to all take flight. It could have been any one (or more) of a number of things that could cause a few thousand out of millions to die of blunt trauma during the process.

Nothing mystical, and if you are familiar with these bird species, nothing surprising either.

That said, this whole 2012 thing is just a load of garp.

I will sell you an insurance policy against the possibility of the world ending on this date.
Please forward $500 to my PayPal account. I will provide repayment if the world does end that day--so it's guaranteed.

That one was really good! LOL

I will be watching / attending the ADL (Approach / Descending / Landing) of "Curiosity" when arriving to Mars in November or December 2012, as I did when "Phoenix" landed.

Here is my general understanding about the Mian calender, it doesn't just end in 2012. Think about it like this, the Gregorian doesn't just end on 31 Dec of each year but rather renews itself and 2012 is the 31 Dec of the Mian calender.

Like the man said, every calendar ends somewhere. The Mayans just got tired of making calendars that they would never need to use. At least with the Y2K scare there was a little bit to be afraid of since computer programmers in the 1960s and 70s neglected to think about the roll over at the end of 1999. To me all of this Dec.21, 2012 furor is just a way that scam artists have found to sell a bunch of hocus pocus books to get rich off the unwitting public.

I find it kind of funny that anyone makes anything out of the Mayan Calender. It's like yeah man, these people had secret knowledge, thats why they murdered 1000's of people trying to appease their Gods...Kind of like Christians through most of their history.

Everyone here is skeptical of the 2012 thing. I posted this message in December 2010. Since then i have learned new information.

I can't fully pin down what's about to happen, but something is about to happen either this year starting in about a months time, or next year in 2012. I have learned new information, but i don't have a date for when its going to happen.

I think it will be religious AND scientific in nature, not some massive astronomical event. Whatever happened during the past five or ten thousand years of human history, i think it will culminate within the next year and a half. Many ancient religious text books exist that recorded what happened during human history. Some serious sh*t happened in the last few thousand years. I think its possible that someone is going to come here to earth to explain what happened in our past.

I can't rule out that i am not personally part of what is about to happen. Someone or something has enlightened me with information. I didn't plan for it to happen, it just happened.

I genuinely think something very GOOD is about to happen to mankind. From what i have learned, its good. I think it will be something beautiful that will unite everyone.

The aliens are going to challenge religion. For most of my life I'd have said good riddance, but now seeing how many layers of deceit could exist... it's simply impossible to know right and wrong. God (whatever God is, say a consciousness or some governing body) may actually want us to reject religion as a demonstration of progress. Or he may want us to reject reason and stay faithful. Those who know what's up either way are frustrated because people won't listen or simply don't care. Even if people did, it won't change anything now.

If you have special knowledge and can reassure us somehow, then I'd love to hear it. The prophecies having to do with Jerusalem are particularly keeping me up at night, as well as warnings we've had since the old testament not to modulate Adam's genome.

Why is everyone assuming that 2012 has anything to do with the end of the world? Why does it, if anything does happen, have to be bad? Why can't it be a new level of thinking? Or perhaps the destruction of ourselves (or at least a vast majority of us). Last time I checked, no one has the ability to see into the future. So to assume that "nothing" will happen on that date is somewhat ridiculous.

That said, I just don't think that the Mayans would follow a calendar, that worked for who knows how many years, to suddenly just stop without explanation. I think they did know something...but what that something is, well we'll all find out soon enough.

The Mayan calendar was conveniently invented to help warn people - it probably means nothing considering the Spanish burned all their history. These prophecies are more to do with rabbinical writings and Christian apocrypha. (Maybe they relate to Mormon ideas about ancient South America. I wouldn't know...)

btw, I don't think there is anything mystical about "prophesies"; it's more like saying "I am going to work now", and sure enough it happens. There's no guarantee you won't be delayed, but odds are that you will arrive OK.

Rick,
I'm not a prophet, i'm just some bloke with a passion for science. But for some reason i can't explain, i seem to have solved a whole heap of scientific problems lately and i'm busy trying to compile, research and write up my scientific findings. I seem to have solved some of humanities greatest scientific problems all in one day. It happened on the 29th Of December 2010, just a few days after i started this thread.

But Rick, what i can say before i do go public with my scientific findings, its all GOOD. There is nothing bad in any of the scientific knowledge i have been given. The knowledge i was given was both religious and scientific in nature, and its all good! Its beautiful Rick. I'm sitting here looking at the mathematical solutions to some of natures greatest physics problems, and its beautiful. I can clearly see the full connection now between science and religion. And its beautifully simple. I hate maths, but this maths looks beautiful. Its kind of hard to explain it right now because i can't say anything until the time is right.

Rick if you study science, continue your scientific studies in life. If you study religious and theological matters, keep studying and spreading the message. Its all good.

John.

Well JOhnney, I look forward in due course, and with great interest, to listen to what you have to say on this matter. Do you have a timescale yet for publication?

Chris,
I've never published anything in my life. I didn't pass through the academic system, i barely passed final exams in secondary school. So i'm just not familiar with academic publishing. So one of my biggest stumbling blocks is learning how and where i should publish what i know.

The other problem that is slowing me down is i have to go and learn advanced doctorate level science's, then find the errors compared to the information i have been given, then decide what to do next. So i'm currently doing a crash coarse in advanced chemical engineering simply because i don't know anyone with advanced chemical engineering knowledge. And if i did know the right person to ask questions too, i could not tell them where i got the information or they would think i was a complete lunatic.

As a result, if i want to compile the information properly for publication, i have to just go learn what ever science is necessary to answer my own questions. You would not believe the presure i have been under for the last 4 months.

John.

Johnney, All,

You do realise that our various calendars are completely arbitrary?

I could create any calendar I wished with any arbitrary start point and we could have a 2012 any time we wished!

In fact, just today, a calendar quirk from just under 2000 earth orbits ago has suggested a clash of calenders that has caused much confusion since that time:

Last Supper 'was on a Wednesday'

Myself, I'd use a 5-day week and consistent 5 'months' of 73 days each for four years at a time. Much more memorable than the old Roman system we cling on to still... Even though September is no longer the 7th month!

It's all a game of numbers and of what meaning we might give to them.

Keep searchin',
Martin

To this day, even in the reign of Hitler, no leader or army commanders have successfully wiped out an entire civilization/people or their history. I also don't believe that the Mayans were completely wiped out. civilizations don't spend hundreds(?) of years building temples and pyramids only to say one day..."ok lets move. Lets abandon everything we achieved and forget about it." That makes no sense. I am even puzzled by the Egyptians and other civilizations that seem to have just vanished. Why take so much time and effort to construct these things if ultimately your goal in the end is to abandon them? I don't think they would build these things with the thought in their head that "tourists will flock to these and wonder for generations what they mean."

I also don't think the Mayans had the ability to fully know or understand who Jesus was or what Christianity is/was. These people were much more isolated from the effects of Christianity than say the ancient Egyptians, the Romans and Greeks, but they might have had some idea of it.

"By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible". Hebrews 11.3
