Behind a Proxy with authentication

This isn’t a question, but an answer of sorts. For all those people that are having problems with BOINC working with an authenticating proxy server here is a workaround. Use a program like proxomitron. http://www.proxomitron.info/ The same thing we used to get the legacy client working works with this one. |

hi! i know of this solution, had used it with the old SAH client. Proxomitron is a very powerful tool. however, since the http proxy setting _is_ available in BOINC, i'd like to make use of it. Best Bytes®, Harry |

I have used freeproxy as a solution. Its working on both win XP and win 98. Boinc has no problems when set to use the proxy server. Freeproxy from http://www.download.com/3000-2381-10049490.html Nairb |

People sitting behind a M$-I$A-Proxy with proprietary NTML-Authentication won't get any benefits from traditional proxys like the one mentioned above. Instead a combined APS/Python-install is necessary, a description can be found here. Kind regards Mike ![]() |
