Hello everybody, My Window client (BOINC Beta Version 3.19, Seti@Home 3.08, Windows 2000 Sp4, Intel P4 1.8) doesn't download new WUs. In the Windows client the status of the three units pending says "ready to report", their progress is 100%. If I try to update the Project the Windows client Messages responds me with these messages: SETI@home - Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi SETI@home - Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed SETI@home - No schedulers responded SETI@home - Deferring communication with project for xx minutes and yy seconds Where is the problem? How can I download new WUs? Thanks in advance. |

Hi! At least you are not alone :-) I believe there (at Berkeley) is something still down and i hope they will fix systems soon.. Ofcourse after several days server problems and maintenance there will be quite a rush, when everything is up again. Can't do anything but wait and hope ;-) Ari |

Ari is correct. Parts of the project are still down. The project staff at Berkeley are working on it. Things are down because of two reasons: hardware failures and performance bottlenecks. At least one of the servers developed some bad RAM, and had to be taken offline until that was fixed. Also, the servers they were using on this project just prior to public launch are not their 'first string' of servers, so to speak. Those (currently) still support the Classic project. The Berkeley staff are busy both with reconfiguring the server arrangement (trying to maximize throughput), and with tweaking the code running on the servers (trying to minimize and/or eliminate various bottlenecks in the software). The splitters need to keep up and get ahead of the demand for work units. The database needs to keep up with requests, as does the webserver. Berkeley has warned us that the project (or parts of it) will be up and down for at least the rest of this week, as they work on it. Please have a little patience. ------------ KWSN-MajorKong KWSN Forum Admin (retired) http://www.kwsnforum.com S@H participant since May 28, 1999 (other acct.) BOINC Beta Tester since Nov 19, 2003 |
