I have a quad core intel 9550 and am pounding out work units like crazy. Am thinking of adding an Nvidia 280 card. If I use CUDA will I produce more work units? Just running seti BTW. Also using WinXP 64 bit. Just upgraded to a new computer after 8 years. I'm impressed with the speed of the new one, but have doubts about CUDA improving performance. |

Give me a few more days and I will tell you. I have just added a GTX295 to my overclocked 9450 rig. Unfortunately, when I connected to Beta last night it downloaded 30 VLAR and 1 AP and CUDA does not play nicely with VLARs - taking about 66 minutes each. Once I've managed to grab some more "normal" WU's I expect to see a huge leap in performance - perhaps 50% or so - will let you know. (I'm also waiting for NVidia to sort the problem which prevents the internal SLI being disabled for 64 bit so that I can use both cores.) F. |
