HI,

As most of you i've updated to the SETI app that features the use of CUDA and i have a compatible card 8800gts 320mg but i cant seem to get the gpu to work. Is it possible that by using enhanced versions of the SETI app that it doesn't work?

I had the same problem with my 8800GTS. The remarkable thing is that it allways seem to happen with the 8800 range of cards that have CUDA capability 1.0. Is it possible that SETI is not sending the application to these clients for whatever reason(can someone of the development team confirm or deny this)? 1.0 CUDA cards are perfectly capable of doing the work(I have been doing it for a few days without too many problems) so I don't understand why these cards never seem to get the CUDA work.

Nevertheless, there is a workaround if you download the optimized package here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=50829

And there is also a solution posted that may fix your poblem.

I have the same problem under w2008 server + 8800GTX

This fix will crash the boinc app within a few minutes.. after that it calculates for 20 secs on a package and then render it 100%. So no solution for the problem for me

Does that happen to all your tasks?
May u spend a bit time to read Outnumbered by cuda errors? or this Modified SETI MB CUDA + opt AP package for full GPU utilization

I know this threads are from number crunching forum. but the most errors are explaind there ...

Hi all,

Ater installing the raimster fixed version, it said it was crunching with the CUDA but the % didnt increase and time did increase. Also the temperature on the GPU was constant at 62 so i knew it wasnt working. What i noticed was that the first 2 files in my task were with the 5.28 version and didnt work. I aborted them and the next one were with verson 6.05 and now it works. Even the 2 cpu are crunching at the same time?!?!?!
