Finally got some new CUDA workunits, all ten of them errored out after about 8 seconds each. Here is an example of one: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=1109080686 Cuda error 'cudaMallocArray( &dev_gauss_dof_lcgf_cache' in file 'c:/sw/gpgpu/seti/seti_boinc/client/cuda/cudaAcc_gaussfit.cu' in line 417 : feature is not yet implemented. -Driver version 175.16 (haven't upgraded yet because a few games I play run like hell on anything other than the version I'm currently using). -Windows XP 32bit You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

Finally got some new CUDA workunits, all ten of them errored out after about 8 seconds each. Here is an example of one: Hi I notice the current driver for this card is 178.24 so if you haven't already, you might want to give those drivers a try. Could be what the error is about. I know changing drivers made the difference when I've had that error. I know you mentioned the other drivers not allowing you to play the games you like. Have you also tried the Beta drivers? Also maybe checking out the thread on the Modified SETI MB CUDA + opt AP package might also be worth looking into. There is also this update to the exe of that app. If you decide it's something you are interested in you'll also need this info on the cc_config.xml file that will allow you to run the MB and AP tasks at the same time. One other note when installing the app, you have to make sure Boinc is completely shut down beofre installing the app. |

Thanks for the info. I will try upgrading the drivers, since at the time I installed my current version they WERE beta drivers. :) It's possible that newer drivers will work as well, so I'll give that a shot and let you know how it works. :) Edit - Oh and I looked up the details on my current beta drivers on the Nvidia site, and they don't mention CUDA. Going to the details of the latest drivers, they make a big deal out of it. :) So this is likely a problem. While I may be asking too much, it may also help with the "out of memory" error I get when I play games at the same time. Again, I'll keep you posted. You will be assimilated...bunghole! |

Well it seems that updating the drivers did the trick, at least for the "feature" error. CUDA has been running for a few minutes, which is already several times longer than it did before. :) I'm going to let it crunch the 20 or so workunits I downloaded to make sure it's fixed before I try to break it again with the "memory" error. Thanks! You will be assimilated...bunghole! |
