On Port 31416/TCP listening an daemon, to provide a Interface for other applications like http://www.davidzilch.co.uk/boincgui/ The daemon is listening on all your interfaces. If you dont have an packetfilter, firewall etc. this port is open to get requests from "all over the world". It could be an security hole. Unfortunately there is no startparameter to bind this daemon on a special interface like localhost. Benn |

This communication is boinc to local (or remote) displaying software (a centralized display of all my boxes sounds cool), not the communication between your boinc client and the boinc server (the WU mothership)...
