I am science teacher that did not want to just throw out some old G3's! So I though of setting them back room and do SETI. (We have SETI on a lot for the teachers computers for a few years) BUT having troubles... Made an image of 10.3.9 with SETI on it and put it on all 10 machines. I do not think that was a good idea with SETI on the image. G3's 300Mghz 512 Mb Rev 2 mother boards They run 10.3.9 just fine But now I get this error in stderr out: <core_client_version>6.2.18</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> process got signal 10 </message> <stderr_txt> </stderr_txt> ]]> I have not got any results all weekend from them :( Any ideas?? Is there a better way to use them like Beowulf cluster??? I am not much of a geek but I love trying! : ) Thanks!! |

Hi RR, This might be why; The Read Me file mentions needing a full install on each Mac, as it creates two hidden users, boinc_master and boinc_project, and two new "hidden" groups with the same names. So, it looks like the long way around... HTH, Skypointer |

I've checked your systems. There is one system 4732992 got errored out all WUs, and the system 4732941 has errored one WU but the others are OK. All other 10.3.9 Mac's looks OK. I would recommend you to make a hardware test on this both systems and test the whole system. Specialy memory and CPU. |
