Can I transfer the tasks from a computer to another one? Because I am using a computer, which can not connect to the networks, at the day time in my office. Therefore I want to bring buck result data to my home, there is another computer connected to the internet, to sent it, and to get new tasks. if it is possible, which files have to be transfer? |

In short, no you can't. Each workunit is registered to the computer that downloads the work, and it is expected to return it as well. Each workunit also has a unique reference in an .XML file located in the BOINC data directory that is required for BOINC to recognize that the workunits even exist on the system. There is a long, drawn out way of making it work, but its generally more hassle than its worth and most people give up or forget to do it on a regular basis because it is too much of a chore. |
