(This is out of interest, I don't at present want to do so.)

Lots of information on the website about opening an account and starting to process WUs for Seti, but nothing about closing an account.

We could just let them drift along with no processing, but it would be politer if you were told there won't ever be any more.

Or is that the accepted way of doing things?

Simply uninstall the BOINC client. There is no way to actually close your account online. The accounts are kept as part of the science dataset and are never actually closed. If a user is concerned about their email address in their account, they can always log in and change it after they uninstall the BOINC client.
