I have followed the instructions for instaling BOINC software (activated the account, downloaded file), but when I start setup, the downloaded file unpack some files and after that nothing happens. When I open Task Manager, I can see that setup is running, but nothing appears on the screen. OS is WinXP, SP1. Any sugestions? |

I would suggest downloading the software again. The file should have a size of 1.656.298 bytes. Maybe this will help. Greetings from Belgium. |

Compaq Evo D510, 512MB Ram , 2,6 Ghz. after doubleclicking it unpacks, in taskmanager you can see the Boinc****.exe and a setup.exe, but nothing ever happens then. What could be the problem, i have admin rights on the machine. Tom |

Well I have the same problem: run the exe and the app just sits idle. I downloaded it 3 times so, no, it didn't get "garbled in transmission". I'm running a vanillia Intel P4 with 768M. Ten minutes ago I was all excited about supporting multiple distributed research projects. But once again -- oh well -- enthusiasm turns out to be wasted on somebody else's big talk and empty promises. If my software was so blatantly worthless, I'd get fired -- and rightly so. I'm deleting the file, and the hell with "BOINC". ===[ PLEASE EMAIL ME WHEN THIS KLUDGE IS REWRITTEN BY A *REAL* PROGRAMMER INSTEAD OF SOME COLLEGE KID. davetocus@hotmail.com |
