When BOINC runs for an extended period of time (i.e. overnight), it renders the Finder nonresponsive on both of my Macs. I have to do a Force Quit on Finder in order to be able to access hard drives, desktop folders, etc. Finder also stops advertising shares when this scenario occurs. Forcing a quit of Finder restores this as well. Is this something anyone else has experienced, and if so, is it unique to PPC Macs? |

I didnt test Leopard, because of a silly priority management: the low priority of the seti client is not taken into account, and the computer is therefore very slow for the professional (useful?) tasks. |

Change the usage from 100% down to 75% or so, or don't use all the processors for BOINC. This may help. Also, make sure BOINC isn't set to use too much of your memory as well. This will override your web based settings. You may want to update those as well. Taras ![]() |
