i am puzzled when i enter to message board, i see lot of people who are really strongly supporting their country and yet haven´t realized that we have one small planet, which barely support this human population which is groving quite fast, and then, if we get to contact other life form from planet blah blah, are we ready to say them( i understand the time factor) hello or are people here just to make sure that guns are ready. ( we can´t be in peace even with ourselves) should we really continue this or is this the worst idea ever. ( i will continue, one humanist have to be here to make others life misery) yours aristoteles "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." ( i will continue, one humanist have to be here to make others life misery) that may be because they suffocate in vacuum, i really think that who ever came with that idea didn´t know much about space or how cold there is,maybe somebody who was constantly skipping school, doves, idiotic idea "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." maybe somebody who was constantly skipping school Pick a leader, any leader... ;) (They don't need education, they have rank.) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

maybe somebody who was constantly skipping school right on "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." Calvin to the Hobbes |

What you need to bear in mind is this. Taking a cue from Startrek, any ET out there could either be Klingon-like and wipe us out, or Vulcan-like and save mankind. Just because a race has the technical ability to conquer space travel doesn't necessarily mean they are nice people. At least I think we are going the right way about it, we are looking for them first, rather than advertising our presence and sitting back and waiting for them.[/quote] since the invention of radio and tv we have advertised our presence "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." ( i will continue, one humanist have to be here to make others life misery) What if they're just like us? What if they're technologically ahead of us, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually no better off, yet they have conquered space travel due to being more advanced than us? |

Then we're in trouble because the majority of human explorers were searching for resources to plunder and lands to conquer... ...and a brief glimpse of history shows the technologically advanced tend to have the upper hand. |

once again people fell to a trap that if you have guns you win the war,do you know that most people who are in iraq are there and in usa just to bring them ammunitions clothing gasoline food letters, list goes on and on, if somebody would come here and ignore all the signs outside of pluto that says, be aware rabies etc, they would have immense problem with supporting their troopers or whatever clowns they would be using, wake up and start to think "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." You're putting limitations on imaginary beings. Who's to say their replicators and dilithium crystals can't supply all the needs of their galaxy class cruiser? What if they're after the sun and our entire planet is as insignificant to them as a bug splatter on their windshield. |

nothing comes from thin air, nor vacuum Replicators work by rearranging subatomic particles, readily available anywhere in the universe. again, you're trying to put limitations on the unknown. |

nothing comes from thin air, nor vacuum and our mindpower can turn their vehicle to a green jelly so they freeze and turn to milky way bars "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." Calvin to the Hobbes |

nothing comes from thin air, nor vacuum Nope, we've already established what the human mind is and isn't capable of doing through millions of years of evolution and thousands of years of written history. At what point are you going to understand that you can't place limitations on imaginary beings anymore than you can give superpowers to human beings? |

nothing comes from thin air, nor vacuum at a point where you understand that imaginary beings doesn´t exist, they either are real beings or not "Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exist elsewhere in the Universe is that none of it has tried to contact us." So your contention is that aliens do not exist, since lacking concrete evidence, we must use our imagination to speculate how they might live and what technologies they may posses... Exactly why do you participate in SETI@Home again? |

Yeah, pretty much contradicts your previous one, huh. |
