the show graphics button does not work in the bionic manager. why is this? i have searched your forums and have found similar questions but useless and arrogant replies. is this a software bug? i have seen many complaints about the software. one reply even said "Don't worry too much about the graphics, they really aren't that important. (Or even great to look at.)" what kind of answer is this? i downloaded your software and i'd like to see something in turn for my electricity usage. if your software is incompetent then just say so, if it's a bug just say so. if it is something i need to adjust then explain it please! i don't know what information to share other than when i'm running a process and click "show graphics" nothing happens. if there is more than one possible culprit then please review all of them and point me in the right direction. |

The graphics have never worked properly for me, but I narrowed down the problem... When I run boinc as a service, the graphics only work for the first work unit that graphics are activated by the button or by the screensaver... The graphics continue to work until that work unit is complete and the next work unit starts, at which point, the graphics no longer work unless I restart boinc... This can be easily tested because it's been consistent... On the plus side, if and when I run boinc from BOINC Manager, all is well in graphics land... I would have spoken up sooner but I assumed those who want to see graphics use BOINC Manager, and those who run boinc as a service are 'power crunchers' who don't care too much about the graphics... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |
