Hi, SETI crunchers. I've been away from SETI@home for a long time. I'm now teaching in Prince George, BC at the College of New Caledonia. I've installed BOINC on my office computer since it's really fast. I couldn't even look at my own webpages at SSL, but that seems to have finally fixed itself. I'm getting some papers published from my work in Berkeley, which is nice. In the summer I am moving to Exeter in the UK, since I got a Marie Curie Fellowship. As some of you may have heard the UK is cutting a lot of their physical science funding, which is threatening the Jodrell Bank Radio Telescope. First Arecibo, now JB. How sad.

Anyway, just an update and a hello.

Hello Kevin ,

Congratulations [from across the ocean], on your fellowship!

Yeah it's a pitty and a shame, governements, spending much many on war, weapons
but cutting off science, schools, etc.

Hi Kevin,

First off, hope you enjoy the UK. Exeter isn't too far from me and is an excellent part of the UK to move to. It isn't "too" busy and you have plenty of coastal walks & beaches to explore. The South West is Britains finest ;)

With regards JB - real shame. The UK Government seem great at collecting taxes & spending £billions on unwanted projects, but not so good at listening to the people of the UK and spending it where it is wanted. There is a petition on the Prime Ministers website, be sure to sign it when you move here :)
