What is a good Antivirus and Antispyware package for 64 bit XP.
I have allways used Mcafee virus and Webroot Spysweeper but I don't think they will work with XP 64.
Thanks in advance
Mark

A google search for '64 bit antivirus' brings up a number of things you might look into......

I run XP64 and I use Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic which works on 32 and 64-bit systems (the site is German, so select English language in the drop down box to the left if you need English).

It's Free for Personal non-commercial use.

[edit]For Antispyware...I do my surfing with Firefox and some of their plug-ins, and don't feel a need for Antispyware. I force cookies to expire at end-of-session unless I specifically want them saved. I run Adaware if my system gets bogged down.[/edit]

Last I looked AVG only supported XP x64 with Its paid version, Has this changed recently?
I use Avast as It works in XP x64 and I use It on all My PCs as It's FREE.

Using AVG with my xp64, no problems yet. I think it runs in 32bit mode though. Have to check to be sure and I'm not on that machine at the moment.

Avast Free edition works nicely, has a very low CPU over-head (unlike McAfee and Norton).
