I don't know if Buga has enough RAC to post here....so I will copy/paste from our site....

After spending some of last night and most of today, sort of got an answer.

All stems around Mysql. Some how other sites are over using it. Finally other started to have the same problem and conntacted them. Guess I was just the first. Anyway, they are tracking down the over users and are taking them out of the system. At the same time they say they are going to update the server machine to a whole new one.

So I asked about a time frame. LMAO. And of course, none givin. So I ask, So im just supposed to live with super slow-mo site? And I get, We are sorry, but you will have to wait. We have a team working on it.

So again I would like to say im sorry. I am going to give it a day or 2 more, then things are gonna have to change.

For those of you who may be just checking us out and may not know this...

Buga ( Rick ) is our website administrator. He is the person who is the biggest reason we have a website and all the cool stuff that is found there. We have everything from music to games to a live chat system called FlashChat ( which by the way is VERY cool ).

Recently, we started having problems with our web hosting service, so we made a switch to a system that was much more stable. Unfortunately, that system is having problems as well at the moment.

I want it to be known that Rick is doing his best to get the problems resolved, and that anyone considering joining our team shouldn't let the website slowdown discourage them. The problems will be resolved, and we will be back to having one of the very best BOINC Team sites out there. :-)

What kills me ( imagine that ) is the fact that no matter what, he really doesn't want to accept any credit for all the work he's done.

That's why having this thread, and of course, our site, is a good thing. We can let him know what a good job he does even though he just says he's " muddling along trying not to screw anything up ".

If they hadn't locked all threads that were more than 60 days old, I would link to the original design ideas that were done by someone else who was on the team before Buga.

That person, at a certain point, just didn't want to do it anymore, and things were going nowhere. Then Rick joined us, and after a few weeks asked me if I would mind if he screwed around with setting up a site for us.

After many, MANY changes and ideas being floated around, the result is the absolutely awesome site that he has set up for us.

I am almost 100% positive that all the changes and suggestions that were made gave him massive headaches, but he never, ever complained about a change I wanted to make. He just found out how to do it, and DID it.

I have told him many times how much I appreciate all the hard work that he has put into the site. I really felt like I was taking advantage of him and offered to pay him at least something for all the time he put into it. He flat refused and told me that if I made him accept payment, he would quit the team...lol

In all honesty, I think Rick is one of the best examples of the kind of people we have on this team. Everyone, in any way they can, is willing to help anyone else. Whether the person needing assistance is on our team or not, our people are always willing to lend a hand.

I have said this before and I will say it again...

I am in awe of the group of people who have gathered around a simple idea for a team. The words Calm Chaos may be a conundrum, or an oxymoron, but what those two words define is the true meaning of " team effort ". Everyone contributes to the team in their own way. Some are very active on our site, some just hammer away at work units for us. Regardless of what kind of person a prospective member may be, Calm Chaos is a place where every contribution is just as important as any other.

We were created a little over a year and a half ago...in that time we have done some great things. We have recently passed 12 million in total BOINC credits, and we are on pace to reach 25 million before the end of the year.

A former member ( former for reasons of their own ) once said that what they ( not going to state he or she here ) liked the " small town feel " of our team. I found that statement to be rather fitting. Of course, you could join one of the " mega city " teams, but wouldn't you rather be part of a team where everyone " knows " everyone else?? A team full of people who consider each other friends??

That's what you will find at Calm Chaos.
