I'm a new Mac user, switching over from using nothing but PCs since the home computer first came out. Installed Boinc without a problem and have it running on a new iMac 24, 2.4 Ghz, 4G Ram. Issues: 1. The screensaver hangs up and doesn't properly allow the computer to shutdown or log off 2. There is a Boinc Icon in the upper right hand corner. I can click on it and see menu items, but clicking on any of them does nothing. If I go to the Boinc Icon on my Stack, it works fine. So, I'm sure there is a bug with the icon in the upper right corner? I'm only running Seti at the moment. |

I'm running on a MacPro with Leopard and Boinc/Seti hangs every 3 or 4 hours. This is a bummer becuase I run this machine 24x7 and it's my best seti cruncher. I have the latest Boinc. I've reloaded and restarted. Still hangs. |

I've reloaded and restarted. Still hangs. My Boinc Manager app hangs every two or three days on average, but the machine still is crunching work units. I just force quit the Manager from Activity Monitor and then start it again. I'm running Leopard on my Mac Pro. Taras |

I have installed BOINC 5.10.28 on a PowerBook G4 running Leopard. I observed the following behaviors which sometimes lead to real problems: * BOINC is configured to start at the opening of the session. It is launched, but sometimes the command Òopen BOINC ManagerÓ does not work. The BOINC Manager window does not appear. Killing BOINC and starting it again it, solves the problem. This problem is a little awkward, but not crippling * When listening to music with iTunes while BOINC is activated, the sound is sometimes cut-off for a few fractions of seconds or more. This problem too it is awkward, but not crippling * I also observed a temporary blocking of the machine, the fan having suddenly a strong activity. The computer is totally blocked. Keyboard and mouse do not respond any more. This situation can last a few seconds, even a few tens of seconds, and then all goes back to normal behavior. This problem is a little more awkward, but not really blocking * Sometimes, the machine is completely blocked, the fan enters in action, the machine heats and nothing seems to have effect on it. The keyboard and the mouse are dead. After a while, as nothing seems to be changing, the only solution is to turn the computer off (on/off button). Afterwards, it starts again normally and all seems to be back to normal... until the next incident... But it seems that work units are processed normally. I just updated to 5.10.29, I will see if these problems are solved. |
