Ok, now that I know where you're coming from, I'll give you my take on Iraq. We need to level any building, block, town, or city that the terrorists are using as a base of operations. We need to totally cut their supply lines.

I agree 100%. Support the war effort!!

Then get your butt over there!

When my country NEEDS 36 year old men on the battlefield, they will reinstate the draft.

Until then I make contributions when and where I can.

My cousin is 40 and he's over there right now. Once again, Get your butt over there.

I'm not your cousin, his presence does not demonstrate a NEED, and my time is better spent taking care of the less fortunate in my own community. (HUD employee)

There's plenty of Iraqis that need housing right now. Why not give your job to someone else, join the military, and go fight terrorists in Iraq? Do you think your the only person that can do your job?

You support the war but are unwilling to actually go and fight. Would you support higher taxes to pay for the war? Would you support rationing to provide the troops with more equipment? Would you support the draft?

Hopefully the cosmos is not trying to reverse the charges.

Because I'm not Iraqi, I'm American and I place a higher value on American lives regardless of their social/economic/political standing.

You support the war but are unwilling to actually go and fight. Would you support higher taxes to pay for the war?

I'm a single, white property owning male with zero dependants. I already pay a larger portion of my income in taxes than most other Americans...but the answer is yes.

Would you support rationing to provide the troops with more equipment?

I already ration...it's called a budget based on a single income household, but again, the answer is yes.

Would you support the draft?

When and if my country NEEDS me, then once again, yes.

Are you paying attention or just operating under the assumption that I'm a liar.

Well, your country needs you right now. We are running out of troops to throw at these terrorists. Or do you think it's ok to keep sending these men and women back to Iraq for multiple tours of duty.

Just think, you could replace some poor slob who's served three tours and has missed his little girl growing up.

Sorry Jon, they don't allow gays into the American military...unit cohesiveness and all that. It scares the straights that someone could act towards them the way they themselves treat women.

Not that they know of or will admit. Case in point the recent denial of a service for a deceased member of the Navy after the church discovered he had been homosexual.

I'm guessing that you are Dogbytes who was recently hospitalized with heart trouble. Hope your feeling better. My dad has heart problems and I know what the nitro can do to your head.

Correct on both accounts, but I'm not dead, yet.

More empty rhetoric. Actually, the DoD does let gays into the military, the gays just aren't allowed to open about it. From first hand experience, that suits many, if not most of them just fine. They didn't want to join to become a political football for the types that would never join in the first place.

It scares the straights that someone could act towards them the way they themselves treat women.

No, those that are responsible for the decision believe that to do so results in sacrifices made in barracks discipline and causes problems with differing standards. They may be incorrect, but they may not be, regardless of what the Out crowd thinks about it.
Cordially,
Rush
