Ding-ding-ding Thanks, MrGray. I'm not sure, however, that I feeling like fighting with an unarmed man (BrainSmashR). If he wishes to compare WW2 to the Iraq War then I more than welcome the challenge. I will not be held responsible, however, for any damage I may do to his world view. Hopefully the cosmos is not trying to reverse the charges. Moderation in all things. |

Ding-ding-ding We are at war, American soldiers are being killed. Both wars seem pretty damn similiar to me. |

Jon: Think of it as teaching others who may read the debate. :) Caveman: We've been creating the instability for decades. Now we're in to collect the spoils of an illegal war. I felt the same way you did until recently, when the psychological patriotic bug finally wore off. Jon: Creating instability doesn't justify the murder of thousands of innocent New York citizens. The murder of thousands of innocent civilians DOES justify war. Or maybe you think 9/11 was 100% accidental and their intended target was some type of government or military installation.....moron. |

80% of the terrorists involved were from Saudi Arabia and Al Queda was in Afghanistan! "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss |

Ding-ding-ding Similar in that they are both wars. Let me list the differences: WW2: A whole lot of nations vs. 3 nations Iraq War: US vs. Iraq with a smidge of help from other nations WW2: Fought to preserve freedom Iraq War: Fought to spread 'democracy' WW2: Used the entire military rage and economy of the US Iraq War: Using whatever troops and equipment we can scrounge WW2: Volunteer enlistment up after start of war Iraq War: Volunteer enlistment down after start of war WW2: Wounded soldiers treated like heros by government Iraq War: Wounded soldiers treated like left overs by government WW2: Enemy easily identified Iraq War: Enemy hiding amongst civilian population WW2: Enemy united under one ideology Iraq War: Enemy fractured into various dogmatic camps Do you need more or is that enough? Hopefully the cosmos is not trying to reverse the charges. Moderation in all things. |

80% of the terrorists involved were from Saudi Arabia and Al Queda was in Afghanistan! I suppose those U-boats off the coast of New York were just sight seeing. Hopefully the cosmos is not trying to reverse the charges. Moderation in all things. |

80% of the terrorists involved were from Saudi Arabia and Al Queda was in Afghanistan! Plus Japan aligned with Germany, who was indeed the more powerful. Not much we could do in the Pacific until we had time to regroup. My Grandfather was Chief Electrician at Hunters Point Naval Base, S.F., and my Grandmother was a "Rosie the Riveter." She fabricated, inspected, polished, and loaded all sizes of shells used in aircraft and ships. I still have some She gave me. Ding-ding-ding It's not a popularity contest. It's about right and wrong and the radical muslim terrorist hailing from the middle east were wrong to intentionally and without malice, target civilian populations.
we are not at war with Iraq, we are at war with radical islamic terrorists. As you mislabel yourself christians, you also have mislabeled the war efforst for your own personal reasons.
Try supporting the war effort rather than condemning it, hippy.
More dope smoking hippies now, more terrorist sympathizers now, more gays now, more welfare leeches now, more minorities now etc, etc, etc. Fewer REAL Americans who love this country unconditionally as you would your children.
You're opinion based on isolated incidents.
Not our fault they are cowards. Incidentally, we didn't care about civilian losses of the ENEMY in WW2 either.
Still then enemy.
Yes please. |

80% of the terrorists involved were from Saudi Arabia and Al Queda was in Afghanistan! I have a letter here somewhere from the president in honor of my Grandfather's design and implementation of the complete redoing of the facility. One Uncle was a submarine electrician and another worked under my Grandfather as an electrician. Ding-ding-ding Ok, now that I know where you're coming from, I'll give you my take on Iraq. We need to level any building, block, town, or city that the terrorists are using as a base of operations. We need to totally cut their supply lines. Hopefully the cosmos is not trying to reverse the charges. Moderation in all things. |
