> Captain Avatar to the rescue!! Thanks so much for your time and effort. They > all look great, I had a hard time deciding. > Hi Heather! I'd grab 'em all. The Captain won't mind. He has only one rule: Don't use someone elses avatar. @ The Captain: Timmy, I have a few avatars that I need fixed. I have to figure out which ones and I will send them on your way. Back @ Heather: I like the avatar you chose. I would have had a hard time selecting as well. The only thing I've got against my avatar is due to something I can't control. Berkely recomresses everything as JPEG at lowest quality, so Hexley's red cap and brown fur, as well as Tux's yellow feet, came out all f'ed up on recompression. Between poorly done color and monochrome... I think black-and-white was better than blotchy codec error, don't you? |

was the original a PNG? they usually convert better and can be over the 4K limit. |

I tried JPEG, PNG-24, and PNG-8 - They all turned to sh!t once Berkeley recompressed it. In case you're wondering, the color version is here. |

Sorry Misfit, I didn't notice till later it was you that posted the pictures. I just assumed it was Captain Avatar. Timmy - thanks - got your e-mail and saw the wonderful samples you sent me. Thank you for the time & effort you spent for me. That's one in the eye for the old man here. Thanks guys for your help. tim, have you tried 'skewing' the color balance prior to compression? maybe if you 'brighten' the colors, they will wash out to a level you want? |

To NA (AKA Penguin Farmer) All I did was resize the original and change to PNG in MS Paint without taking out any colors (I wouldnt know how to do that anyway). It's testing fine. |
