I have not been able to get any work since the 4th of may does it have to do with this update that you mention here or what
thank you panteradgo

No. It has nothing to do with what we were discussing at the end of this thread.

If you read the posts from Matt Lebofsky (the one who starts every thread in the Tech Forum), you'll understand why you can't get any work.

Excellent advice... although I would'a said "almost every thread" (two have been started by others of the Berkeley team...)

I still like version 5.8.6 because the Task Tab, Progress includes a fill-bar.
Real easy and quick to see.
Don't know why that feature was dropped.

It's all back in 5.9.x. It's available on the download page for BOINC.

Thanks for tip. I just installed 5.9.10 and it seems very good.

WARNING! 5.9.x IS STILL IN ALPHA TESTING! DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!!!

Follow the recommendations of each project - AFAIK, all projects are still recommending 5.8.16 as the up-to-date version.

No need for this. The warning is right there on the download page.

If everyone did that, the development versions wouldn't get much testing.

Probably because you didn't use the anonymous profile. I have been using 64bit versions of BOINC for a long time now. Currently using 5.9.10 in both 32bit and 64bit versions - all self-compiled from the CVS source.

Be lucky
