This website is for Seti, what you are talking about is the BOINC manager, so I suggest you try the BOINC website or at the very least the appropriate forum on this site- Questions and Answers, Wish list. Grant Darwin NT |

Only BAUT members can see the post you link to. So for folks like me, it's a dead link. |

In the Boinc updates as well as many other sights they regularly mention about viewing updates or followups on "Facebook" or "Twitter" NEWS FLASH Not everbody uses Facebook, Twitter, My Space or other slavish dictatorial snoop sights. Facebook has lots of privacy problems and everything you post there belongs to them. I doubt if in my lifetime I will ever establich a membership with any of them. They are not necessary to breath. |

Not everbody uses Facebook, Twitter, My Space or other slavish dictatorial snoop sights. ...They never claimed that all news/updates etc. will only be presented across social media; rather, that there's another way of presenting that information other than just on the forums. Chill out dude. No one's forcing you to use FB or the like. |

Hi, Yes. Read the Front page, or go to the Panic Mode thread in Number Crunching for the story. Donald Infernal Optimist / Submariner, retired |

Hello SETI@home staff. And thank you for the job you are doing and for the time you must spend for this. BTW, I have a question : could it be possible (without too much work) to create a specific thread explaining what has been observed by SETI. A thread with no comments or questions allowed, so it would not imply you have to spend time for answers. Just infos for us all whose computers are running days and night for SETI. And please with a self-explanatory name "SETI results of the month" or something like this. The content would only be such as "An interesting pulse has been observed and was attributed to a storm, or to a foreign or far galaxy, which coordinates are..." and so on. At my point of view, this would make sense because if not, SETI might become only a race for credits with quite a low interest. I joined SETI 15 years ago, then disappeared, then came back again in 2011. At the begining, we were made informed from time to time on what had occured (if there is nothing to report, just write "Nothing relevant this month"). Maybe this kind of info already exists somewhere but I could not find it. If it exists, thanks for giving me the link. Very best regards and thanks again. JF TIERS |

Hi there to everybody, My name is Frederis. I'm French, near Lyon. I'm very, very keen on History, Philosophy, Politics and Video editing as an hobby . I'm 37, and I will always want to know furthermore. I joined the SETI@home project only recently , I was yet aware of his existence, I learned a lot of things in my childhood by serious ufologists Carl Sagan and Jacques Vallée who were hard scientists . I think it's a great initiative and we'll take our knowledge a bit further every time we read a forum discussion. I think it's the labour of those who as adults know a lot about it, if we had a label saying "when I look through my telescope, I'm alone and if connect to Boinc in the search, I'm a useful part of this". We're all talking the same language anyways!!!! People who've never heard of the SETI project get so excited when I talk to them about it! I'm from the generation who was born or grewed up with Spielberg's Encounter Third Type and the whole vogue around Kubrik, Asimov's and Clarke's novels It boosted my hunger of knowledge and my love for the first sondes Pioneer, Helios, Isee and all the big era of space rockets. I have a big desire to reedit one big movie from this era. maybe the sequel to Kubrik's 2001, 2010 movie from.. do you know from ? a little ridle for tasters. Hope to talk with you on these matters friends |

Good afternoon from Spain. Recently I joined this iniciativa.Me full of joy to contribute and comment. The strongest signal I've seen in my computer power was 10.89. A greeting and the bull (as we say here) |

Thanks for this donation, and a belated welcome to you aboard this dc project, Francis. As this is a thread (theoretically) reserved to the staff, I suggest you say hello again in the Cafe SETI thread of the forum https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_forum.php?id=11, where you'll get more feedback. You should be able to find the Pictures and Photography threads easily, where you really should consider sharing your excellent astronomy photos ! Made my first donation today and won't be my last |
