If a mod could please sticky this, that would be nice.

BOINC now has a Live help. You can find more information about it at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/help.php.

To be able to get the live help from one of the many volunteers, you will need to download and install a program called Skype. A lot of work has gone into creating this live help as another method to assist those who are having problems with the BOINC software, in hopes to get you up and running.

This question doesn’t really belong in this thread …

But there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to run BOINC 24 hours a day, as long as the system shows no signs of overheating. Propping it up a bit so that air can circulate all around is a good idea. Let the display (but not the CPU) sleep while you’re not using it. If it gets hotter than you’d like, you can use either the Energy Saver settings from System Preferences or BOINC’s own ‘CPU-throttling’ preference to slow it down a little.

I don't know what pottery and vetches have to do with the computer, but I have been running BOINC on my MacBook Pro since January. It does get quite hot, but I set it upon a laptop stand to allow air to circulate beneath it. Except when I travel, it has been going 24/7 with no issues. I just need to remember to cycle my battery every now and again.

I just started running BOINC (Seti & Einstien as tasks),and everything was working perfectly until today. Now, when the screensaver is supposed to kick in I get the message "task is suspended" for both Seti and Einstien. I can't figure out how to unsuspend them. Probably something simple, but beats me. I'm running this on an eMac OSX 10.4

Thanks in advance for any help.
