A user has requested a binary for SCO UnixWare and OpenServer in the "SETI Enhanced binaries for other Platforms" thread. It is posible to let the Linux binaries running in the LKP enviroment under UnixWare and OpenServer without any los of performance. Here the needed steps : - Install the packages lxcompat, lxsetup, lxrpms and lxsupport from the CDs (UnixWare CD2) - The setup asks for the Linux RPMs CD (CD4 on UnixWare). So far I know includes this CDs a Caldera OpenLinux distribution. - If you have not this CDs, it is posible to copy ofer the needed libs from a Linux system to /linux/usr/lib : -r-xr-xr-x 1 root sys 1442949 Nov 12 22:30 libc-2.3.4.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 13 Nov 12 22:30 libc.so -> libc-2.3.4.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 13 Nov 12 22:30 libc.so.6 -> libc-2.3.4.so -r-xr-xr-x 1 root sys 13680 Nov 12 22:14 libdl.so.2 -r-xr-xr-x 1 root sys 177315 Nov 12 22:14 libm.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 7 Nov 12 22:33 libm.so.2 -> libm.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 7 Nov 12 22:32 libm.so.6 -> libm.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 89859 Nov 12 22:35 libpthread-0.10.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 18 Nov 12 22:35 libpthread.so -> libpthread-0.10.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 18 Nov 12 22:35 libpthread.so.0 -> libpthread-0.10.so -r-xr-xr-x 1 root sys 796392 Nov 12 22:14 libstdc++.so.6 -r-xr-xr-x 1 root sys 10884 Nov 12 22:16 libtermcap.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 13 Nov 12 22:16 libtermcap.so.2 -> libtermcap.so The links are required, that the BOINC client and the SETI application find the required libs. Also, copy a bash to /linux/bin/ if you don't have the CDs. If you have no Linux distribution by hand, feel free to contact me, I will mail you a bundled package of the required libs. After this steps, download the Linux BOINC client from boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php, create a user under which BOINC should run, including a home directory. Now login as this new BOINC User and copy the downloaded Linux BOINC Client into the home directory. Start the BOINC client with "./boinc_client -attach_project http://setiathome.berkeley.edu ACCOUNT_KEY" - Change ACCOUNT_KEY in the commmand in the key you get mailed by the project at the registration. After the right attachment to the project, the BOINC client will download the Linux SETI application and download work and start crunching... |
