I wouldnt be surprised at getting this from time to time. I work at the German Space Center near Munich, and as part of my work I downlink stored data from the spacecraft, and then transfer the raw unprocessed data to a pc via FTP. Quite often the antivirus checker says there is a virus or trojan. As the system the data downloads to is running Linux, and iits only connection to the outside world is via a dedicated line to our data center, the chances of this being real is zero point nothing. As eti data is also pretty much random data, I guess it could happen that the data patter is similar to a virus and gets flagged. I wouldnt worry about it. Just dont try to execute it! :) Regards ![]() German Space Operations Center |

> NAV is the worst CRAP out of there!!! > Dont use it, its totally useless! > Better use a free AV. On what knowledge bases you make such a statement ? What do you know about Virus ? Tell me how many antivirus software type exist. Looking at your profile, Norton was in business before your birth and it did save my drives and my data many times. Did you read that on a teenage forum or from other spots face friends ? You have just told half of the users here they were stupid because that's probably how much of us currently using Norton. Have a nice day. |

I'm using AntiVirGuard (free for personal use, updates,...). Nevertheless I think Norton Antivir is better from the point of updates (faster). But I hade no bad happenings with this software. Every virus erased, I hope so :-). The whole is more then the sum of its particles. Aristoteles Best wishes from Berlin(52°35'N,13°23'O), Basti S@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club © member |

There have a been a few times where there was a trojan horse embedded in an activex or picture that it detected and blocked before it even got to the harddrive. But you go right ahead and run those FREE AVs. Im sure theres good reasons why they are free. Lack of reliability being one of them. You're not the brightest star in the sky, are you? |

When I started using Panda Antivirus Titanium it found I think 6 viruses on my system, and I used Norton Antivirus before that, but it made random errors on my HD and hang up's, so i droped Norton and never looked back. Panda also does online check's. Anders alias alo_dk. |
