I have been off Seti@Home for some time now because I can't get the BOINC software up and running.

It unzips and installs fine.

I then type
.../BOINC/run_client

and get the return:

and then it just hangs . . . for hours. I've checked around the Seti and BOINC websites but can find no clear step by step instruction of what to do.

If I then interrupt I get:

2006-10-20 16:33:59 [---] Received signal 2
2006-10-20 16:33:59 [---] Exit requested by user
2006-10-20 16:33:59 [---] Rescheduling CPU: exit_tasks

I'm using Mandriva2006 32 bit version.

Please help as I'd very much like to get back on the program.

That says it all. :-)
You could now do

a) use the -attach_project option
b) start the boincmgr and use the graphical add project option

Thanks. Last I used it in Linux it was all from the shell. Didn't realise it had gone graphical.
