It would be lovely if us Maccies could have a graphic interface for SETI BOINC.

The nearest we have is the freeware SetiControl which shows progress as a percentage, the Spike, Gaussian, Pulse and Triplet details only appearing as Peak Power, Mean Power and Best Score numerical values. Useful but not as immediately interpreted as a glance at the Classic SETI interface.

I've certainly learnt a bit about using Unix since downloading BOINC but the advantage of having a Mac is that it's very user friendly, a feature that's somewhat defeated by having to type everything out in Terminal!

That's correct. There's no graphic interface and it can't be run as a screensaver. Boinc for Mac is only available for Mac OSX 10.3, though it has been adapted for OSX 10.2 by third parties. There doesn't appear to be a version for Mac OS9 or earlier, either.
