According to the computer page, one of my Solaris 10 systems has acquired two computer IDs and is running both of them even though I execute BOINC only once. My other identical Sol 10 systems don't have this problem.

Below is a cut from the output that also shows a lot of pausing. Is this a symptom of the two ID issue or something else?

Hm, you mean your Ultra 60 ? - It is ok, that boinc starts two seti processes, because you have to CPUs.
I did not seen this two CPU IDs in your stats. Could you please post the ouput from starting the boinc client.
But I have seen, that you use the boinc client 4.19. I recommend you heavly, to upgrade to the 4.43.

Below is a cut from the output that also shows a lot of pausing. Is this a symptom of the two ID issue or something else?

Hard to say what it caused. Do you have enabled the settings, that the client will be paused if your system is in use ?

If you look at my computer information, you'll actually find that one of my Ultra 60's is listed twice having two IDs where my other Ultra 60's (also dual processor) have only one ID. Specifically, it's the machine listed as sunss3 with an ID of 2183845 and also another ID of 2183846.

From the startup point of boinc:

2006-03-25 02:55:50 [---] Starting BOINC client version 4.19 for sparc-sun-solaris2.7
2006-03-25 02:55:50 [SETI@home] Project prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults

2006-03-25 02:55:50 [SETI@home] Host ID is 2183845
2006-03-25 02:55:50 [SETI@home] Host ID is 2183846

Notice it has two host IDs for some unknown reason. I don't have any preferences set up for pausing when the system is doing something else especially since there's nothing else running. All three Ultra 60's are just running boinc.

As for upgrading, boinc 4.43 does NOT work on Solaris 10 properly. It bombs out every time. I did try upgrading once a few weeks ago and it never worked. I had to downgrade to 4.19

Thanks for the output.
It is strange, that your system have got two host IDs. - I have seen this never bevore. Could be caused by a bad client_state.xml file

You could try to set this system to get no new work and let it run ot of work. Then stop the boinc client, backup the whole boinc directory, and try to reset the project via boinc manager, or cleanup the xml files in the boinc directory, and attach the system again, or remove the client_state.xml and start/or attach it again.

Which problems do you had with 4.43 ? - Do you have installed the libgcc package, and setup the LD_LIBRARY_PATH correctly ?

Answering in reverse order, yes libgcc and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are set properly. Even 4.19 requires this to work properly. I don't have the errors recorded to tell you. I'd have to download the client and try again.

I've tried resetting the project a couple times but I'll give it one more go. Oddly enough, I can't merge computers on the website either.

There are some installations with solaris 10 out there, which have no problems. But it is better to use the 4.43, because a lot of bugs where fixed with the newer releases.

Looks like your xml files are corrupted. - What did a "grep host_cpid client_state.xml" say ? - Are there two host CPIDs ? - If yes, I think it is the best to cleanup the installation, as I have written in my last post.

There were two IDs in the client_state.xml file. I was able to clear out one of the IDs and now the system runs on only one ID but I still can't merge computers on the account page.

As for upgrading, I don't remember what the problem was. The systems are going to be reorganized in the near future so I'll upgrade them then and post if I have a problem with the upgrade.
