I've had SETI@home running on this Linux machine for a few months. A couple days ago it stopped communicating with the project. When I ping setiathome.berkeley.edu it resolves the IP but doesn't get a response. Traceroute produces no results at all. I opened a browser to setiathome.berkeley.edu and it loaded ok. There doesn't seem to be any ipchains or iptables rules set up and I can ping/traceroute inside the network just fine. Also, the windows machine on the same subnet is crunching happily with no problems. This is baffling to me, if anybody has any ideas, I'd be very appreciative. Do you have lost your routing table entrie to your default router (gateway to the internet) ? Do your browser from the linux system use a proxy to connect to the internet ? - Do you need to enter a proxy for the boinc_client to connect to the internet, too ? |

There was a URL change some day ago. Your problems could be due to that. If your attached to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/ you should try to reset and reattach to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu that should fix it, if the URL change is the cause of your problems. ![]() Join BOINC United now! |
