Hey guys, I have a question. I downloaded an optimized client from Crunch3r and now the server is sending me this: 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] Starting BOINC client version 5.3.6 for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] libcurl/7.15.1 OpenSSL/0.9.7i zlib/1.2.3 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] Data directory: /home/boinc_5.3.6_x86_64 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] Processor: 2 AuthenticAMD AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 244 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] Memory: 1.97 GB physical, 1.87 GB virtual 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] Disk: 1.84 GB total, 1.67 GB free 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Computer ID: not assigned yet; location: ; project prefs: default 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults 2006-02-06 15:47:36 [---] Suspending network activity - running CPU benchmarks 2006-02-06 15:47:38 [---] Running CPU benchmarks 2006-02-06 15:48:37 [---] Benchmark results: 2006-02-06 15:48:37 [---] Number of CPUs: 2 2006-02-06 15:48:37 [---] 3624 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 2006-02-06 15:48:37 [---] 10736 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU 2006-02-06 15:48:37 [---] Finished CPU benchmarks 2006-02-06 15:48:38 [---] Resuming computation 2006-02-06 15:48:38 [---] Rescheduling CPU: Resuming computation 2006-02-06 15:48:38 [---] Resuming network activity 2006-02-06 15:48:40 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Master file download succeeded 2006-02-06 15:48:40 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 2006-02-06 15:48:40 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Reason: Requested by user 2006-02-06 15:48:40 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Requesting 17280 seconds of new work 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] General preferences have been updated 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] Message from server: No work sent 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] Message from server: (there was work for other platforms) 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] Message from server: (there was work for other platforms) 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] New host venue: home 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [---] General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2006-01-11 16:15:50) 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [---] General prefs: using your defaults 2006-02-06 15:50:42 [SETI@home] Successfully attached to SETI@home What can I do against it? I tried to start seti WITH "setiathome_SSE-naparst-r3.4" in the directory and without. No difference. TBH: I'm not really sure how I can bring this cliet to work but I am sure it can work because a friend of mine does it. It is a 64 bit gentoo linux dual opteron... Thanks! --Goetz |

This message pops up now and again, best thing is to leave it alone for a while and it will get work eventually. Leave the optimised app in the projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu directory along with app_info.xml. Just give it some time. |

This message pops up now and again, best thing is to leave it alone for a while and it will get work eventually. Hi thanks for your answer. What i did is this: I downloaded the 64 bit boinc client. Then I executed it with "./boinc_client -attach_project http://setiathome.berkeley.edu WHATEVERMYKEYIS" and attached it to the BOINC project. Then I stopped it and copied setiathome_SSE-naparst-r3.4 in the /projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/ folder. There is only the "setiathome_SSE-naparst-r3.4" and no app_info.xml... How can I start the blank BOINC with the folder because normaly it does not exist? This is my /BOINC/ folder: drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K Feb 6 17:25 . drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K Feb 6 15:46 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2.6K Feb 6 17:21 account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2.4K Feb 6 17:21 boinc.log -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2.9M Feb 2 19:55 boinc_client -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1.1M Feb 2 19:53 boinccmd -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3.6K Feb 6 17:25 client_state.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3.6K Feb 6 17:24 client_state_prev.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1.2K Feb 6 17:21 global_prefs.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Feb 6 17:20 lockfile -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 69 Feb 6 17:21 master_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K Feb 6 17:20 projects -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5.0K Feb 6 17:21 sched_reply_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2.0K Feb 6 17:21 sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml -rwxr-xr-x 1 500 500 2.7M Nov 10 19:07 setiathome_SSE-naparst-r3.4 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 424 Feb 6 17:21 statistics_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml And this is the last entry in the log: 2006-02-06 17:21:13 [SETI@home] Successfully attached to SETI@home I started boinc this way: "./boinc_client >>boinc.log 2>&1 &" Maybe my "procedure" is totally wrong? =) Thx! --Goetz |

This message pops up now and again, best thing is to leave it alone for a while and it will get work eventually. You need an app_info.xml file in the same directory as the "setiathome_SSE-naparst-r3.4" otherwise boinc tries to download an matching app from S@H which obviously doesn't exits. ![]() Join BOINC United now! |
