Hi IAHIM, It depends on which S@H app. your using. If it's an optimized app. i would say something arround 2h on your cpu. Using the default app. i ted to say 5-7 hours. hope that helps. ![]() Join BOINC United now! |

And what mean an "optimized app." ? The standard seti application is a "fits all" sort of thing. If you download the windows x86 version then it has to run on any and all x86 CPUs running windows. What some people have done (Crunch3r is one of them) is to write versions for specific CPUs which take advantage of special instruction sets supported by the CPU (namely SSE, SSE2 and SSE3). In addition to this work has been done to improve the general efficiency of the application like caching results of calculations so they don't need to be calc'ed again. This is allowed because the seti application is open source. The optimised version have to return valid results or no-one would use them. Theres nothing underhand about using them. If you examine your results closely enough I'm sure you will find that some of your WUs have also been crunched by optimised apps and you'll be surprised by the speed of them. [edit] here you go, this is one of your results and you can see it was also sent to 3 other people and the result with a time of 4,869.13 seconds used an optimised application. |
