Hi My Fedora Core 4 system used to do that even though hostname -f returned a fully qualified domain name. It only started working when I installed Crunchers optimised seti app. Have a look here Looking at your computers, your running an early version, Cruncher has new versions and you won't believe how fast they run. Also, if you only run the seti project, look at updating your Boinc client at the same time. |

nope, we don't get to see your computer names, we can see your CPU and OS details and get in and see your results but not your computer name or IP address. When you allow others to view your computers, what we see is quite different from what you see. and I cant find the apropriate files for this - can you help me please? I've never had a Celeron but it should be similar. As its linux run this command cat /proc/cpuinfo you'll see a whole bunch of stuff but what you want is in the line beginning flags (possibly cut and paste the flags line into a message here) Open crunch3rs page in a new window/tab and compare the flags, what you should look for in your flags is SSE, SSE2, SSE3, pni. SSE3 and pni are better that SSE2 which is better that SSE find which of crunchers files (or Harold Naparst, theres a link on crunchers page) best supports you cpu and download it. Stop boinc backup your boinc directory extract the downloaded files into YOUR_BOINC_DIR/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/ restart boinc that should be it |
