I may misunderstand but when I set different general prefs for work, home and school such as "Do work while computer is in use" pcs in that group should use the pref for that group correct. My exact problem is I have 2 work machines and 1 home and the preferences I set seem like they are being ignored.

General Setting
"Do work while computer is in use" = N

Home Setting
"Do work while computer is in use" = N

Work Setting
"Do work while computer is in use" = Y

School Setting - Not Created.


Then over in the computers section I set each pc to the proper location.

What happens is all of the machines start doing work all the time even the one in the Home group. Any Ideas or do I just not get it?

Note I already checked the client does not have run always selected. Run based on prefs is set.

After you have made the settings on the WEB-Page, did you force the client(s) to update ?

If that doesn't be the problem, then delete the HomeSetting. I watched several problems with the Home-Profile and don't know, wheather they are already fixed.

If you delete the home setting, the client you have set up to use this setting, will use General-Setting. Then it worked on all my maschines correctly

I did apply the updates after I made the changed. It sound like you are saying home specificly has a problem work and school dont?

I tried what you said it did not make a difference. The messages in the gui says its getting applying the different setting but you can tell by the cpu usage its not

Delete all preferences (not genereal, this can not be deleted) and set generell to not work when computer is used.

After the clients have updated, this setting should work. If clients are still running always, their seems to be a different problem.

If this works, only creat the profile for school and try this again.
