It is over 15 machines and according to somebodys stats A LONG time ago, that is what they said was the roll-over point. I keep upgrading friends computers and they give me their old parts. I am also retired and am now working part-time. The part-time money, some of it, goes to buying new motherboards and cpus and then the friends old parts lets me put them into a new machine and voila, I have a new cruncher. I did go to a computer show the other day and bought a whole computer, a Dell 2.4ghz with everything but the ram for $200.00US, too good a deal to pass up! If my wife wouldn't have complained I would have bought more than one. I still have some older, for me, pc's that I need to upgrade. AND I have an old quad Xenon 550mhz server I NEED to get rid of. It is pumping out units at the rate of about 4 every 20 hours, and is absolutely HUGE! It is a floor model and is almost 2 feet wide by almost 3 feet deep and almost 3 feet high. It does not give me enough bang for the buck electricity wise and my wife should be doing her usual complaining when the next electric bill comes in. I am currently around $300.00 a month, or so, for an all electric 7500 sqft, including the basement, house in Northern Viginia, USA. ID: 358693 ·

Stats are stats and they are just that, I do not live and die by them. I use them as a measure of how well my machines are doing on an ongoing basis. Now don't get me wrong, I do like to see them going up, but if they go down, as they have since Crunch3r pulled his optimised versions, I am not crushed. And yes I do know that only the RAC went down, not the actual number of credits. There should be some new optimised versions for Windows coming out soon. The Linux versions are already out, go here to see http://www.zadra.org/seti_enhanced/. AND you do know that SetiUSA built a Windows version, but is keeping it solely for THEIR users. ID: 358703 ·
