In SETI@HOME Classic, you could set it only to run when the screensaver became active. How can I do that with the new SETI software? I only want it to run when the screen saver is activated.

Thanks

At the Seti@home website:

Open 'Your Account'

Then open 'Preferences', 'General Preferences'

Make sure that 'Do work while computer is in use?'
and 'Leave applications in memory while preempted?'
are both set to 'no'.

Also make sure in Windows that your screensaver is set to the SETI@home one.

PS: You can also remove BOINC Manager from the startup folder (if it is in there). The science application will continue to run.

After all this, open Boinc Manager, go to the Projects tab, select the Seti@Home project by clicking on it, press the Update button.

Only then will Seti/Boinc know about the new settings.

PS: You can also remove BOINC Manager from the startup folder (if it is in there). The science application will continue to run.

This will only work when the installation is done as a service.

When it's done as single or shared user install, Boinc will not start until Boinc Manager starts up! So don't take the Boinc Manager option out of the startup folder, when you don't have it installed as a service!

Sorry about that :(

I had forgotten that, I run it as a service - lucky you checked my answer!

I don't have the seti listed in the screensaver list as soon as I loaded this dumb Bionic manager, where did it go and how do I get it back?
