I downloaded and intalled the bionic software on my system and worked (win2k). then it crashed and the only option was to reformat. I also upgraded my cpu. I installed mandrake10, witch is the only OS I have on a cd. I downloaded the bionic sotware for linux, intalled it, it runs but it cant see my internet connection to upload any work. My computer is behind a router on a DSL connection. Everything else in linux that uses the internet works fine. Any know how to fix this? BTW, I want to resome the work that my computer left when it crashed, now I have a new OS, is it possible to set this new bionic install up to resume where the win2k one left off? Im running BIONIC 5.2.7 linux x86 system: p3 733(previusly p3 533) 392MB ram madrake10 linux(previusly win2k) GeForce4mx420 3.2GB and 8GB HDD's Thanks. |

If you have to point your system to the router, you'll have to input that info separately for boinc. If you open the "options" menu, you can specify your proxy settings there - it won't take them from the OS automatically. As far as the work that was being done under windows, it can't be completed by linux without a tremendous amount of hacking - and then it would still be likely to fail. |
