Here is a sequence of actions.
1. Go to Seti@Home website and find new ID for my computer which was recently reformatted.
2. Click on the computer.
3. Modify the location of the computer to "Work".
4. Click on "merge this computer". Merge it with its former self.

Result:

No luck. Tried again today. The problem looks systematic so far. Any other ideas?

it works for some clients, but not others.

when I tried to merge these two windoz hosts, it fails
Merging host 1707793 into host 1700082


when I tried merging these two Linux hosts, it fails
Merging host 1402090 into host 1703168
