I'm running Windows XP Professional (SP2) on an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ and a Radeon X700 Pro video card. I just downloaded BOINC (v5.2.5) and only have the SETI project running. The only way I can view the graphics is by clicking "Show Graphics" under the "Work" tab. Both the screen saver preview and the screen saver itself result in blank screens. I've seen other similar posts among the discussions here, but I have yet to see a definitive solution. Please help. Thanks!

There are a couple of answers so that is why you may be confused.

ATI cards do not always work right. Updating your driver may help, if not you may have to wait for the next version of the science app before it starts working.

The blank time must be set. Even if you do not want it to blank the value must be non-zero.

If you only do work when idle the idle time in BOINC must be less than the delay for the screensaver to start. (This one usually gives a 'BOINC is not running' message instead of a blank screen though.)

A service install will not show graphics without setting some of the service properties. (This one will normally not allow you to show graphics in any way though.)


My money is on the second, though the first has a high probablity as well.
