Is there a way to force BOINC to always return results upon completion? I have my work cache set to 10 days, to better weather BOINC server downtime, but would still like my client to report each workunit right after it is done.

Thanks

The new version of BOINC postpones reporting to the next time BOINC will contact the servers anyway. This has been built in to avoid too much net load.
AFAIK it should have done so even with the earlier versions, but didn't due to a bug.

You can't make BOINC report automatically every time.
When you see an unreported result, however, pressing 'update' will trigger the report.

It does upload the results, BTW. Uploading and reporting are not the same...

Thanks. What is the contact schedule? Is it when the local cache can no longer fulfill the 10 day (in my case) workload?

Yes, for download.
Uploads also are done immediately when a WU has been finished.
Only the report sits and waits for the next u/l or d/l connection.

So what is the difference between 'Uploading' and 'Reporting'.

Thanks.

OT: If you set the 10 day queue to make up for inaccurate time estimates it is time to set it to the real queue size that you want. The new version will really get the amount of work requested once it has had a chance to learn your system.
