So I do!

SETI@home - 2004-07-23 01:59:02 - Message from server: To participate in this project, you must use major version 4 of the BOINC core client. Your core client is major version 3. "

But it seems there is no version 4 available. I couln't find one.

SETI@home - 2004-07-23 01:59:02 - Deferring communication with project for 1 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds

The server will defer connection for 1 day?
What's going on?
We will find out, be patient... ;)

Regards
humeyer

P.S. Just after I posted this the server shows the old behaviour:

I understand that we have to be patient (grr - not my best feature) but I really do think we should have the right error messages when we are told why we cannot participate in the search for E.T.:-)

setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/boinc_alpha/
I tried going over to the site, but connection
kept timing out. I also understand alpha testing
is by "invitation only" can someone clarify this
for me? how do we get invited?

Alpha members were "invited" from the beta group. I doubt they are adding any more alphas, so you don't have any hope of becoming an alpha.

Alpha is, indeed, invitation-only. I don't think they're looking for any new alpha testers at this stage of the game (they haven't taken any since I was invited, as far as I know).
