...... I tested the SSE version on my AMD XP 2000+ and it errors out immediately The same file on my AMD 64 works. Thiinking trux made a mistake and put the wrong file to this link, seems to me the SSE version is SSE2 in reality. trux, can you look into this, please? [edit] Did test the other two version P3 SSE and P3 no SSE and got the same results: not working on my AMD XP, but working on my AMD 64. [/edit] Andy Want to know your pending credit? AndyK: I tested the SSE version on my AMD XP 2000+ and it errors out immediately Hmm, the links are correct, the compiler settings appear to be set correctly too. I'll have to dig into it little bit deeper to see what's on. RichardG: The optimized V5.2.2 really is not needed. Version 5.2.2 over a short time will adjusted for the inaccurate benchmarks with a individual correction for each project. After about 5 returned workunits the correction is fairly close to the end result. That's true for the time estimates, but it does not help with the claimed credit calculation that is dramatically reduced by optimized S@H applications as long as you do not use the same optimizing options at the core client too. trux BOINC software Freediving Team Czech Republic |

OK, there were some incorrectly linked libraries in the non-SSE2 builds, due to hardcoded paths in the orginal makefile that I've overseen. Sorry for the mishap. I now fixed the paths, recompiled the applications and tested on a non-sse2 machine. trux BOINC software Freediving Team Czech Republic |

OK, there were some incorrectly linked libraries in the non-SSE2 builds, due to hardcoded paths in the orginal makefile that I've overseen. Sorry for the mishap. I now fixed the paths, recompiled the applications and tested on a non-sse2 machine. Well it's working on my P3-600E now. Here are my benhmarks: tmr ---- 1011 Dhrystone 521 Whetstone trux ---- 1157 Dhrystone 393 Whetstone Any reason to be concerned that the Whetstone is lower than tmr's? Also does this 4.531 have the Duration Correction Factor. Since the server thinks it's 4.x client will it be able to use that value? |

[Anyone other than me haveing problems with windows boinc-524-sse2.zip running as a service? It doesnt want to start... 4.72 works fine. Just installed 5.2.5 as a service. I stopped the boinc service and placed the boinc-524-sse2 files in the boinc directory. I couldn't get the service to start again (some message that boinc.exe didn't return the expected response to the service start command). I tried the boinc-524-sse files next, and the service is now up and running without problems. In short: yes. :) Greetings, Sander ![]() ![]() |

Anyone other than me haveing problems with windows boinc-524-sse2.zip running as a service? It doesnt want to start... 4.72 works fine. Can you test this: stop the boinc service. Copy the 5.2.4 SSE2 again in that folder und a new name like "boinc_524sse2.exe" open up a command prompt start boinc by typing the name (boinc_524sse2.exe) and hit enter. Do not start the service. post the error message you get. then start the service again it will take your boinc.exe (5.2.4 SSE ) I had problems with the 5.2.4 SSE2 also, but Trux made a new build (5.3.1). I just downloaded it from his site and it worked. Maybe you download it there, too? Andy Want to know your pending credit? The biggest bug is sitting 10 inch in front of the screen. |

Anyone other than me haveing problems with windows boinc-524-sse2.zip running as a service? It doesnt want to start... 4.72 works fine. It's the same as posted earlier in this thread: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application." Greetings, Sander ![]() ![]() |

...... Get the V5.3.1 from Trux and you'll be happy running a SSE2 version. Andy Want to know your pending credit? The biggest bug is sitting 10 inch in front of the screen. |

I've added versions for other CPU types for both versions - pure 5.3.1 and 5.3.1 spoofed as 4.531 (for v5 incompatible projects): Any chance on a linux 5.2.5 for the various platforms? If not does anyone know where I can find a optimized 5.2.5 binary? |

Please help. Desert Phoenix |

OK this is getting annoying I downloaded the 4.72-sse2 version unzipped it didn't see the two files. I ran the .exe file saw two more files appear in the folder but were not the ones you said to transfer into the BOINC folder what is the deal I don't understand? A frustrated Desert Phoenix |

Question: Do I need to put any of the other files from the unzipped folder into the BOINC folder or just the two that were mentioned in the instructions but are not there? |
