I'm running a Compaq Presario laptop (2.4 Celeron, XP Home) and after some undetermined amount of time, BOINC is putting in a standby mode and it stops processing. The screen is set to go blank after 5 minutes, and I can bring it back up again by tapping the touchpad. But if I've left it alone for a while (overnight or gone to work) I can't even get the screen to come up and have to reboot it each time. I was previously running Seti Classic (through Seti Buffer) on it with out any difficulty. No power management settings have been changed. My default settings are for it to 'run always' and I'm not having any problems with my 2 desktops running BOINC. When the project wasn't sending work units this week, I reinstalled SetiBuffer and the laptop never blacked out on me. Anybody have any ideas? |

This wont help you any except to say that I had the same problem. I have a HP ze5270 2.4 ghz running Win XP Pro. Once I updated to the version 3.20 I didnt have any more problems. Together we can accomplish anything. |

I thought BOINC had an auto-update feature, but now I know it's the SETI application that auto-updates and BOINC must be done manually. |
