I'm looking for a way to get a version tuned to my system, but I have to admit that I am a bit green when it comes to compiling. I have to think that I cannot be the only current user with FC4 x86_64 running and I am wondering if anybody has already compiled a tweaked version, knows where a good RPM of such version might be found, or would be willing to teach me how to do this (so I would not have to ask again). Any takers? |

Look at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_other.php. Speical the sites Stefan Urbat and "SETI-Linux" has optimized Seti Apps. |

You dont need to compile the client yourself you wont get it faster than the optimized versions on the third party download page. I suggest you should use this boinc version. http://naparst.name/files/boinc_amd64_moral.bz2 and the matching seti app. http://naparst.name/files/setiathome_SSE2-naparst-r2.tar.bz2 You wont get any faster boinc nor seti application. regards Crunch3r ![]() Join BOINC United now! |

Crunch, I tried the client that you suggest, but when I try to run it I get the following error output: 2005-10-01 00:07:47 [SETI@home] Message from server: platform 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' not found Any idea why and what I can do to solve this? |
