problem i got one of the boinc clients from www.pperry.f2s.com
when i start it up it starts with nice 19 how can i set it to 0 or even harder?

tryed

nice -0 boincprogram

but still it comes up with 19

got plenty of power so why not bring it up

With your command only boinc starts with nice 19, and boinc starts the app it with nice 19. Try a renice -n PRIORIY $PID_OF_THE_SETI_APP.

Why will you start it with a higher priority ?

to make sure its not overlayed by other progs running this maschie iss for seti and nothing else......
but somtimes it happens that a friend whats to work on it so running boinc with 0 iss fine and gehts not pushed back like with 19

you would have to renice the seti program, not boinc, but i believe you will have to also renice it every time it starts a wu since the thread respawns.

however i recall that there might be an xml setting somewhere you can set that governs nice level, but i cant seem to find it in any of my files
