This problem actually pertains to Boinc\predictor@home rather than seti@home but I thought I might have a better shot at getting an answer over here.

Seti@home works fine for me under BOINC. Ran into the same problem w/ ClimatePredictor months ago and gave up.

I'm using the BOINC v4.45 Windows Client

Preferences set to...

Disk and memory usage
Use no more than 100 GB disk space
Leave at least 0.1 GB disk space free
Use no more than 50% of total disk space
Write to disk at most every 60 seconds
Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory

I've got about 7.5GB free on my primary (C:) partition but am receiving messages that I don't have enough space to receive work units (see below).

Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!

John

I'm trying to remember what I've seen or heard works with this. Your error is described in the Wiki Here, but it looks like your settings are good for the project. I'd try tweaking your preferences at the Predictor site, change the Use no more than value to something closer to what your partition really has free. Update Predictor from BOINC Manager and see what it says. The Wiki also suggests stopping and restarting the BOINC client software.

Good luck!

MJ

Awesome - bumping the disk space down to a max of 2GB seemed to do it.

Thanks for the info!

Before BOINC had a setting that allowed you not to download new workunits, pushing your disk space usage up to a large number like 100 Gig (usually larger than your disk) and reducing the free space left was the best way to stop downloading workunits before disconnecting a project. As you can see, it still works. Just thought I'd mention it.

Ignore my last post. I got my wires crossed and was talking through my hat.
